¡°Diary in South Africa¡± ¡ª Kristin NG-Yang Solo Exhibition
Graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Chinese contemporary artist Kristin Ng-Young has been living in South Africa for more than 14 years and now she is studying for a PhD degree at University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
The latest artwork from Kristin is a representation of her diary in South Africa. The techniques of her art creation are vast, including oil paintings, watercolour, installation, charcoal drawing and mono-print. As a migrant artist, it is hard to identify Kristin¡¯s origin, race and nationality from her artwork. Kristin¡¯s artwork is very personal and distinctive. It is a dialogue between the home context and current ¡®foreign¡¯ environment. This exhibition continues exploring Kristin¡¯s new concept of abstract and figurative paintings as well as her newest installation of ¡°flying bird and fish¡±.
